Welcome to the new portal for Continuing Professional Development in Scotland for general practitioners and general practice staff.  This website contains information about national CPD activities and resources to help support general practitioners for their CPD, one to one appraisal, and for their revalidation.

Continuing Professional Development is an ongoing process by which health professionals learn and develop to meet their own personal and professional needs, needs of the health service and needs of patients.  CPD also enables individuals to develop and enhance a broad range of knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for practising in primary care.

Definition of CPD
"A process of lifelong learning for all individuals and teams which enables professionals to expand and fulfil their potential and which also meets the needs of patients and delivers the health and health care priorities of the NHS."
